On May 23, at the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the initiative of the UNDP BIOFIN project, a seminar was held on the topic “Scenarios for reforming subsidies for VAT exemption of imports of chemical plant protection products and mineral fertilizers and options for using potential income”. The main purpose of the seminar is to discuss scenarios for reforming the priority subsidy and options for using potential income. Within the framework of BIOFIN, financial solutions were previously identified to cover the budget deficit of biodiversity. The Organic Movement Federation BIO-KG was invited to the seminar as an expert community. The coordinator of the FOD, Sultan Sarygulov, proposed to actively support projects for the conservation of biodiversity, since this is the future. Also, according to him, it would be advisable to allocate part of the subsidies to support domestic producers of organic fertilizers.In general, to support chemical fertilizer suppliers (including him) the state annually allocates about 300 million soms.г.
