On March 3-4 of this year, seminars on amendments to the law on water use were held in the Chui and Issyk-Kul regions. The seminar, where the amendments to the acts of the law on water user associations were discussed, brought together well-known experts, representatives of state structures, plenipotentiary representatives of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the regions, specialists and heads of regional basin water farms, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and others. In addition, the seminar was attended by Helvetas and representatives of the initiative group on
irrigation issues.
The participants were presented with a detailed presentation on changes in the legislation on WUAs, the executive bodies were instructed to supervise the implementation of the law, the storns discussed the most effective possibilities for the operation of WUAs. Tariff policy in the irrigation environment was also discussed at the seminar.
